CLSA INDO: Bank update from Bret Ginesky

Foreign ownership of SBI's fell 17% WoW to Rp51.5tn at Jan 14. This is roughly 5% below the average foreign holding for the month of December and reflects the downturn in the market during the past week. Foreign ownership now stands at 26.3% of total SBIs. The last batch of 3month SBIs expired this week and now all holders have either 6mo or 9mo SBI's, given this there will probably be less volatility in the next two months as this product becomes more seasoned.

The system LDR increased by 17bps to 74.87% WoW as of Jan 12. This reflects a minimal decline in loans (Rp2.5tn) and deposits (Rp8.3tn). The decrease in deposits was fueled by savings accounts which decreased by 0.8% WoW to Rp713.6tn. This action continues to reflect the seasonally weaker January and February period, we are not concerned by the decreasing balances.

Lending rates contracted by 1bp to 11.97% while deposit rates remained unchanged at 6.53% WoW
