Foreign Investors Selloff Drops - The Indonesia Today

Foreign investors were in net sell of Rp1 billion Monday (August 15), dropped substantially from daily selloffs last week.

Statistics from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) pointed to net sell by foreign investors of US$388 million last week. They bought Rp9.32 trillion worth of Indonesian stocks, but sold Rp12.646 trillion worth of stocks.

The selloffs contributed to the correction of composite index of IDX by 0.79% for the week ended August 12.

In the previous week ended August 5, net sell by foreign investors amounted Rp1.4 trillion (buy of Rp21.6 trillion and sell of Rp23 trillion). The composite index dropped substantially by 5.06% that week.

That means total net sell by foreign investors in two weeks was Rp4.73 trillion. But on Monday (August 15), net sell by foreign investors was only Rp1 billion (sell of Rp1.442 trillion and buy of Rp1.441 trillion). Composite index gained 1.79% to 3,960.
