Foreign Investors' Net Sell Reached Rp1.4 Trillion - The Indonesia Today

Net sell of Indonesian stocks by foreign investors reached Rp1.4 trillion in the week ended August 5th, 2011. This has contributed to 5.06% correction of composite index of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

Statistics from IDX shown foreign investors sold Rp23 trillion worth of stocks, but at the same time bought Rp21.6 trillion worth of stocks.

This is one of the heaviest trading weeks for foreign investors. Most of the net sell were made Friday (Aug 5), which reached Rp1.2 trillion.

In the previous week, foreign investors recorded net buy of Rp685 billion with total purchase of Rp8.81 trillion.

President SBY held a special meeting to discuss the market crash Friday. Hatta Rajasa, coordinating minister for the economy, believes Indonesian stock market would still attractive and that the recent correction is only temporary.
