Samuel Sekuritas Daily Economic Review Senin 31 Januari 2011

·        Market sentiment was back during the last week market. IDR was in its appreciation trend while JCI rebounded to 3,487.61 and WTI price bounced back to US$89.34 in response the political tension in Tunis, Egypt, Lebanon, and Yemen. In the today market, we expect IDR may stay stable in the range between Rp.9.030 to Rp.9.040 per USD.

·        Inflation 2011 may go to 6.1% to 6.62%, above the government target of 5.3% but in line with Samuel projection of 6.5%. The increase may be caused by fuel subsidies reduction and removal of capping of electricity base tariff that may bring additional inflation of 0.8% to 1.32%.

·        The US economy in Q4-2010 grew by 3.2% lower than the market consensus of 3.5%. The increase is driven mostly by households consumption while from the business side has not been so impressive yet due to lower inventories and imports but exports has improved. The US economy may go stronger in Q1-11 following Bush tax cut policy.
