PGN and Petronas Sign Cooperation Agreement - The Indonesia Today

State owned gas transmission and distribution company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) has inked two agreements with PT Indogas Kriya Dwiguna (IKD) and Petronas Bhd regarding on its gas business developments.

PGAS signed Heads of Agreement (HoA) with IKD to develop and to use Terang Sirasiun Batur gas field in East Kalimantan. The field is presently operated by Kangean Energi Indonesia Ltd.

Around 20 billion british terminal unit per day (Bbutd) will flow to PGAS starting from 31 January 2012. The gas will be transported through East Java Gas Pipeline network to a metering/receiving station at Waru, East Java operated by PT Pertamina Gas.

“This HoA is part to overcome the decreasing gas supply from Maleo Well (Santos) which will gradually decrease from 122 Bbtud to 110 BBtud on July 2011, and will later to 100 Bbtud starting from January 2012,” the company said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, PGAS also has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Petronas to analyze business opportunity and cooperation on gas industry activity plus its business chain.

“This agreement is part of PGAS’s step in expanding its business,” the company said.
