Chandra Asri Intends to Boost Public Ownership to 25% - The Indonesia Today

Petrochemical producer PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA), a subsidiary of PT Barito Pacific (BRPT) Tbk, plans to increase its public ownership to 25% from current 5%, detikfinance.com reported.

Suryadi, TPIA's director, said the plan of boosting public shares, scheduled for this year, aims to increase its liquidity in market. "We want to increase public shares to 20-25% as the public only have 5% ownership after the merger," he said.

The merger of PT Tri Polyta Indonesia (TPIA) Tbk and PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Center (CAPC) has been completed and effective since January 1st, 2011. After the merger, the company was named as PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk.

Suryadi said the management is now finalizing the scheme of boosting public shares, including rights issue.

He added the company targets to book revenue of US$2 billion this year, supported by the expected 6-7% demand growth.
