Thermal Coal Declines 1.3% - The Indonesia Today

Thermal coal spot prices in Newcastle Port, Australia---benchmark for Asian market---declined 1.33% to US$121.48 per ton for the week ended April 22.

In Richard Bay Port, South Africa---benchmark for South Asia and Europe---the commodity, according to globalCOAL, down slightly to US$123.27 per ton from US$124.11 per ton on April 15.

DES ARA Index (Europe) also slips to US$127.52 per ton from last week's US$128.35 per ton.

The highest monthly NEWC Index was in January at US$129.99 per ton, but then declined to US$126.57 per ton in March.

Crude oil, meanwhile, ended up 0.81% to US$112.29 per barrel on Nymex Thursday (Apr 21).
